Armadale Shopping Centre
Interior designer DeShanon Naoum from Meyer Shircore Architects, carried out a brief which demanded the interior environment to be fun, dynamic and welcoming.
The food court embraces a theme of energetic colours, organic patterns and harmonious surroundings. The raised seating area in particular adds diversity to the space with the comfort of the custom designed banquette seating and the fixed upholstered stools. Other featured furniture include the Aqua chair from Bontempi, made in Italy and the custom designed Tan Ottoman.
The overall style of the furniture is streamlined yet organic and playful, which acts complementary to the circular graphics along the glass and the suspended feature pendants.
One of the significant challenges faced throughout the design process, was the consideration of materials for the outdoor furniture. Factors such as durability against weather and potential vandalism were addressed with use of customised fixed furniture using granite and stainless steel.

Furniture options and Meyer Shircore have worked collaboratively on projects for example the Armadale Shopping Centre. Customised booth seating, fixed square upholstered ottomans, tables, dry bars and the Aqua chairs in both white and orange contributed to the food court dining experience. The Tan ottoman was designed for the corridors Shopping Centre. Another example is Wembley Downs IGA where the curved ottoman was designed with a built-in coffee table and slim bumper rails to protect it against the collision of trolleys.
